Engineering

  • Reduced downtime from 10% to 4%.

  • Increased the level of Preventative Maintenance from 45% to 70%.

  • Through installed PM Checklists standards were agreed to improve the efficiency of all PM jobs.

Meat Processing:

  • Reduced downtime from 12% to 5% using downtime audits, increased preventative maintenance (25%) and checklists. Installed skills matrices to identify training issues.

  • Installed a method change in the pricing room which allowed a reduction of 12 ppl.

  • In the despatch and intakes departments procedures were installed to control more effectively the truck movements, allowing for more effective resource planning. This enabled a reduction of 10 ppl from the department. .R.O.I for this project was 4.5:1.

Telecomms:

  • Reduced Manufacturing cost per handset from £109 per unit to £ 74 per unit.

  • Increased production by 11% through effective scheduling and agreeing targets per product group and hourly follow-up by supervision.

Chemicals:

  • Increased vessel processing from 3 per shift to 12 per shift through working method changes and closer supervisory follow-up.
