To develop and manage the deployment of innovative low carbon systems in energy sector with specific focus on transport (vehicle and trains) and the establishment of refueling infrastructure.
• Hydrogen transport programme – conceptualization and management
• Low carbon policy and strategy development
• Bidding, researching and writing in low carbon transport focus area
• Consortia establishment and management and related stakeholder relations
• Sourcing, management and directing of service providers
• Identifying, securing and management of strategic partnerships (government, industry and academia).
To provide independent consulting services to a variety of clients mainly in the energy management sector.

• Provide advisory services to customers (tariffs structures, energy efficiency, renewable energy
Provide overall leadership and direction to the economic research and development team comprising of socio-economic researchers, green economists, industrial symbiosis practitioners, technology transfer officers and labour force experts in order to inform the provincial economy direction.
Provide leadership and guidance in the development of internal and commissioned research including undertaking own cutting-edge sector oriented research as well as fostering collaborative research with strategic partners.
To ensure the smooth running of the office of deputy municipal manager and inculcate the culture of performance, good governance and efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of basic and strategic municipal services (water, sanitation, electricity, waste management, roads, storm water and municipal fleets) and also to encourage innovation and value for money approach.
