Working with both new and established consulting companies (Proudfoot, STaR Consulting Group, The Bridge, Cannizaro, AMC and others) through Active Change Limited to design and deliver strategy and performance improvement programmes.

Key Achievements

• Lead a substantial team delivering a complex re-organisation, process re-engineering and cost reduction programme for BAE Systems Regional Aircraft with initial cash benefits of £4m per annum but increased customer-facing headcount and enhanced, integrated sales capability

• Headed team working with the Port of Felixstowe – the largest container port in the UK – to develop a completely new, dynamic operational management group that was delivering an improvement in productivity of 16% (with cost-per-box down 10%) within two months including redefined forecasting process

• Worked with senior management of élan Pharmaceuticals to streamline their North American supply-chain, starting with improvements in the forecasting process then rolling-out those improvements to deliver a reduction of more than $200m of inventory yet with fewer out-of-stocks

IMPAC Group is a US-base performance improvement consulting company with operations in North America, throughout Europe and across the Pacific Rim dedicated to delivering measurable improvement to clients through the implementation of change programmes.

Held project manager then project director roles in Eastern Europe, SE Asia and then the EU managing five projects at any one time – principal roles were to ensure consistent and effective delivery of results, identify further sales opportunities with clients and develop the capabilities of the field teams.

Key Achievements

• Project manager on the first program sold in Poland – leading a completely inexperienced team, the project was delivered in full with multi-million DM benefits and a further programme was identified and sold at more than 100% of the original engagement

• Took over operations in Indonesia with six projects and 50+ people billing but only two experienced project managers (neither of them local). Designed and delivered an exciting, crash programme to develop Indonesian project managers, technical services crew and trainers. 15 months later, he was the last non-Indonesian in operations and local project managers and trainers were being “exported” to other parts of the Pacific Rim

De Boccard & Yorke Ltd. Project Manager, Turkey June 1991 – March 1995

De Boccard & Yorke operates a bespoke service in Croatia, Slovenia and Turkey, working with substantial blue-chip local companies by deploying a carefully blend of UK know-how and local talent. Project Manager in Turkey delivering commercial change programmes.

Key Achievements

• Simultaneously lead and delivered programmes for the largest brewer in Turkey (Efes Pilsen) and one of the leading Islamic businesses without clashes

• Redesigned the delivery routing system for Efes Pilsen in Izmir, increasing the delivery capability by 15% without increasing either headcount or the number of vehicles

• Increased output of Isuzu trucks by more than 50% within a very constrained space and without an increase in headcount
