Have played 2 key roles in the design and construction of Tel Aviv Metro’s Red Line project - 24km of railway (11km underground twin tunnels), 24 above ground stations & 10 underground stations.
? Civil Design Manager (12.2014 – 01.2017): Responsible for managing the overall delivery of the civil design, managing a team of Technical Experts and Project Managers managing external Designers in various locations (Israel, Europe and Canada) to deliver within schedule and budget.
Managed the delivery of staged station designs for client approval, permitting and construction including the incorporation of changes.
Led the renegotiation of the detail design contract for 10 underground stations resulting in a safer design with optimal smoke control within underground stations as well as improved passenger circulation within stations. ($16m redesign contract).
Managed the permitting process for obtaining construction permits from multiple city councils and authorities.
Managed alignment detail design including optimization design and peer review process resulting in a harmonized unified design.

Member of the Strategic Program Management (SPM) team managing delivery of Phase 1 – 131km of railway and 48 stations to the value of $25 billion. It incorporates 56km of twin TBM tunnels, 38km of elevated viaduct sections, 33 underground and 15 elevated stations and the flagship multilevel Msherireb Interchange station.
Set up and managed the project Change Management Process. Managed changes in relation to the project baseline through assessing of the commercial, program, cost, technical, operational, QHSE & risk impacts in relation to on-time, on-budget delivery of the system, reporting to the Senior Program Director.
Other responsibilities included Design & Build technical tender preparation; assisting with interviews for Design & Build Contractors, Enabling Works and Project Management Consultants; and assisting with the drafting of Technical Functional Requirements.

Member of the Gautrain Provincial Support Team representing the client (Gauteng Provincial Govt.) as PPP partner in the design, construction & operation of the system. The railway is an 82km modern commuter system (standard gauge, electrified at 25kV, maximum operating speed 160 km/h) consisting of 10 stations linking Pretoria, Johannesburg and the OR Tambo International Airport. Project value – $3.5 billion. It includes 13.5km of tunnel and 10.2km of elevated viaduct sections. There are 3 underground, 3 elevated and 4 at-grade stations. Notable stations include the elevated airport station, the deep level flagship Sandton interchange station (multi-level platforms) and two cut-and-cover underground stations.
? Scope of Responsibilities. Design & Planning (including station sizing; functional aspects planning; pedestrian flow planning; traffic interface planning; station urban environment integration; station finishes selection);
Project Management of Design Review Processes; Assessment of Functional Station Operations; Management of Construction Quality Assurance; Signage (system wide); Compliance to Universal Access (eg. for people with disabilities)
